Tour Scotland photograph of the May Robertson Gravestone in Kinnoull Graveyard in Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. Erected by Alex Mackie, Bridgend, Perth, in memory of his wife May Robertson, who died in the month of June 1802. She was a loving wife, a tender parent, and a faithful friend.
Many of my tour guests are researching their Scottish Roots. The graveyard located by the River tay is well worth a visit, consisting as it does of many 17th and 18th century gravestones, including that of the ferrymen who worked the River Tay crossing between 1621 and 1772. The graveyard is also the resting place of "Euphemia (Effie) Chalmers Gray (1828 to 1897) the wife of the critic John Ruskin who later left her husband to marry his protege, the Pre-Raphaelite painter John Everett Millais.
