Tour Scotland Autumn travel photography of the Watch House in the Parish Churchyard on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to Clunie, Perthshire, Scotland. During this era in Scotland, body snatching was rampant. Watch houses were built in churchyards to allow families or hired guards to keep watch over fresh graves and protect them from grave robbers seeking medical specimens. Fragments of the original medieval church have been rebuilt into a small structure that probably served as a watch house to the south of the present church.
