Edinburgh Castle. St. Margaret's Chapel, at Edinburgh Castle, is the oldest surviving building in Edinburgh, Scotland, and an example of Romanesque architecture. Legend had it that St. Margaret worshipped in this small chapel, but recent research indicates that it was built at the beginning of the 12th century by her fourth son who became King David in 1124.
