Tour Scotland photograph shot today of Meikleour Beech Hedge Perthshire, Scotland. Shot these photographs after lunch at 2pm today on the road between Perth and Blairgowrie. Unfortunately the sun had disappeared behind some black clouds, but since I was in the area, I shot these photographs.

The Meikleour Beech Hedge, located near Meikleour, alongside the A93 Perth-Blairgowrie Road, was planted in the autumn of 1745 by Jean Mercer and her husband, Robert Murray Nairne on the Marquess of Lansdowne's Meikleour estate. It is said the hedge grows towards the heavens because the men who planted it were killed at the Battle of Culloden.
