Tour Scotland travel photography of the War Memorial in the Wellmeadow on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to Blairgowrie, Perthshire, Scotland. This infantryman was the work of Alexander Carrick, born 1882, died 1966, who was one of Scotland's leading monumental sculptors of the early part of the 20th century. He was the son of a blacksmith, in the small town of Musselburgh, just east of Edinburgh. In 1916 Carrick joined the Royal Garrison Artillery and served in Belgium throughout World War I.
