
Old photograph of Polbain a crofting township in the Coigach area of the Highlands Scotland. Many Coigach townships, including Polbain, have origins in the Middle Ages, with the clan system playing a significant role until the aftermath of the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion. Many people from Coigach emigrated during this time, seeking better opportunities elsewhere. .
