Tour Scotland video of Massed Bagpipes and Drums at the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Pipe Band Contest in the city square in Dundee, Scotland. The massed pipes and drums included the following Pipe Bands; Kelty and Blairadam, MacKenzie Caledonian, City Of St Andrews, Coupar Angus Burgh, Dollar Academy, Badenoch and Strathspey, Bowhill and District, Kinross and District, Perth and District, Methil and District, City Of Discovery and RAF Central Scotland Pipes and Drums. The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association, RSPBA, is a governing body to oversee pipe band competition, and to promote and encourage the development of pipe band culture throughout the world. It was founded, and has been active, since 1930. Until the battle of Culloden in 1746 ended the Jacobite rebellion by the Highland chieftains led by Bonnie Prince Charlie, clan chiefs were great patrons of piping and pipe music; cultivating new musical styles, sponsoring musicians who founded piping dynasties and their own piping colleges. But that rich musical culture was devastated for many years by the Jacobite defeat.
