Tour Scotland Photograph Painting By Archibald Kay


Tour Scotland photograph of an Island of Iona painting by Archibald Kay who was born in 1860 in Glasgow, Scotland. From his earliest years as an artist he focused on painting landscapes. Kay initially studied in Scotland, and later at the famous Academie Julien in Paris, France. On his return home he spent 18 years teaching art in various schools in the city of Glasgow. He was president of the Glasgow Art Club. He was a member of the Royal Scottish Watercolour Society, Royal Scottish Academy, and the Royal British Colonial Society of Artists. Despite being city based Kay was almost exclusively a landscape painter, and he worked most frequently in the Western Highlands and Islands, Arran and Iona.
