Lund Chapel, officially known as St Olaf's Church or Lund Kirk is a historic, roofless medieval ruin. It was built during the Norse period when Shetland belonged to the Earldom of Orkney. It is dedicated to Saint Olaf, the patron saint of Norway, reflecting the deep Scandinavian roots of the local population. Despite its Norse dedication, the architecture follows an early medieval, Celtic influenced style. It served the local community and nearby Viking settlements for over six centuries before being abandoned around 1785. The ruins include a small side window traditionally referred to as a " leper's window, " which allowed sick or outcast individuals to view the altar service from outside.
