Tour Scotland 4K Summer travel video, with Scottish music, of a road trip drive West on the A91 route on ancestry, genealogy, family history visit to Logie Kirk, East of Stirling, Britain, :United Kingdom. The church lies on the B998 close to the junction with the A91, between Stirling and Menstrie, or more accurately between the Wallace Monument and Blairlogie. Logie Kirk is one of the oldest parishes in Scotland, established during the reign of King David I, born 1124, died 1153. The original church was dedicated to Saint. Serf and is mentioned in a charter from 1183. A church built in 1380 replaced the original, and it continued to be used after the Reformation, though it eventually fell into disrepair. The graveyard is notable for its collection of gravestones. The kirk and its surroundings have deep historical and cultural ties, with connections to local families, including the Abercrombys and the MacDonalds. The present church dates from 1805 and was built under the instruction of Reverend Robert Clason, died 1831, on land gifted by Sir Robert Abercromby of Airthrey. The architect was William Stirling of Dunblane. The church has been remodelled several times. Stained glass windows include one by C E Kempe and two modern windows by John Blyth. The surname Logie was first found in Fife. Logie has been spelled Logie, Loggie, Logy, Logue and others.
