Old Photograph High Street Newburgh Fife Scotland

Old photograph of a church, shops, houses and people on the High Street in Newburgh, Fife, Scotland. Newburgh's High Street is central to a town founded around the fishing settlement established by 1191, which became a burgh dependent on Lindores Abbey in 1266 and a Royal Burgh in 1631. The street features 18th and 19th-century buildings, a Town House built in 1808, and reflects the area's history of salmon fishing, weaving, and later the Tayside Floorcloth Company.
