Old Photograph Thatched Cottage Perthshire Scotland

Old photograph of women sitting outside a thatched cottage in Perthshire, Scotland. Using thatch for roofing goes back as far as the Bronze Age in Britain. Scottish cottages were historically the homes of farm workers and labourers. From around the 18th century onwards, the development of industry led to the development of weavers cottages and miners' cottages.
