June photograph of Sea Queens,
St Monans, East Neuk of Fife, Scotland. A service of thanksgiving was held at the Auld St Monans Kirk, a historic 14th century building, where the minister met the Sea Queen on the ancient bridge over the Inverie Burn. They threw oats and salt into the sea as an offering, and then entered the church for the service. After the service, called Kirking of the Sea Queen, Sea Queens, past and present, gathered on the steps of the Kirk.
