Tour Scotland photograph of Clava Cairns, Scotland. The Clava Cairns are a type of Bronze Age circular chamber tomb cairn, named after the group of three cairns at Balnuaran of Clava, to the east of Inverness. This Neolithic burial site of standing stones and cairns were part of the inspiration for the Outlander series of novels by Diana Gabaldon.
