Tour Scotland Video Queensferry Rowing Club Firth Of Forth

Tour Scotland Winter afternoon travel video of Queensferry Rowing Club coastal rowers on the Firth Of Forth by South Queensferry near Edinburgh, Scotland. The St Ayles skiff is built from a kit and therefore all boats within the Scottish Coastal Rowing Association use a similar design, making the boats perfect for racing. The Skiff, pronounced Saint Isles, is a 4 oared rowing boat, designed by Iain Oughtred and inspired by the traditional Fair Isle skiff. The boat’s hull and frames are built using clinker plywood and it measures 22 feet with a beam of 5 feet 8 inches. It is normally crewed by four sweep rowers with a coxswain. The boat design was commissioned by The Scottish Fisheries Museum as a vessel for use in The Scottish Coastal Rowing Project. It is suitable for construction by community groups and amateur boat builders.
