Tour Scotland self catering holiday cottage recommendations in Ettrickbridge, Scottish Borders, Scotland.

Brigend Cottage is set amidst the beautiful, tranquil scenery of the Yarrow and Ettrick Valleys in the very pretty and quiet village of Ettrickbridge. This cottage is in a wonderful location with world class fishing available on the River Tweed and its tributaries, including the local Ettrick Water. Cyclists and walkers are also well catered for with numerous trails close by. There are many historic castles, abbeys, stately homes and gardens within easy reach and the area offers golfers a variety of interesting courses. The Ettrick Valley has very varied wildlife, with great opportunities for spotting deer, badgers, otters, buzzards, curlews, lapwings, among other birds and animals. Alternatively, take a day trip to Edinburgh with its magnificent castle, Holyrood Palace, visitor attractions, shops and famous summer festival. Ettrickbridge has a small play park and tennis court and there is a larger adventure playground at nearby Bowhill. The village pub is 200m from the cottage and offers good home cooked meals while the nearby town of Selkirk has a range of local amenities including shops and restaurants. In addition there is excellent fishing on your doorstep, other activities include golf, walking, cycling, horse riding. Kirkhope Tower is a Scottish Pele located a mile north west of the village, near the site of the old chapel or kirk of Kirkhope.

Faulds cottage is in the Scottish Borders, in the small village of Ettrickbridge. Faulds is set in the heart of the village close to the Cross Keys Inn, a friendly hostelry serving great food and real ale. The 3 bedrooms are on the ground floor and comprise a double with en suite shower room, a twin and a room with bunk beds. The main shower room is situated on the ground floor also. Upstairs the first floor is all open plan,ideal for socialising, with sofas, a dining table and modern kitchen with fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave. There is a small garden and a shared courtyard sun trap. Secure garage and 2 dedicated parking spaces. There is loads to do round about, walking, cycling and some fantastic motorcycle routes in beautiful countryside.
